About Perth Hills Mundaring

Drop down a gear and head up to Mundaring in the Heart of the Perth Hills.  Enjoy a leisurely drive on leafy backroads, winding through spectacular Jarrah forests and national parks. Delight in art and culture, walk or cycle amazing trails, or simply throw down your picnic blanket and relax beside the tranquil waters of Lake Leschenaultia under shady trees. Although just 40 minutes from Perth, it will feel like you are so much further away from the city bustle.

Mundaring is one of 11 distinct villages within the Shire of Mundaring, a local government area covering an area of 644sqkm of which one-third is State forest. Other villages include Darlington, Glen Forrest, Mahogany Creek, Stoneville, Parkerville, Mount Helena, Sawyers Valley, Chidlow, Wooroloo and Helena Valley.

The charming villages are steeped in a rich history closely linked by the old railway line that is now the fabulous Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, stretching some 59 km through the shire.

The amazing engineering feat that is the Mundaring Weir with the water pipeline to the Eastern Goldfields region is also here.
